KELTBRAY WINS GOLD & SILVER GREEN APPLE AWARDS

At this year’s Green Apple Environment Awards, Keltbray topped the construction category and won Gold for environmental best practice at Chelsea Barracks and a Silver Award for Mitre Square.

The awards date back to 1994 and were presented at The Houses of Parliament on 10 November by The Green Organisation to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.

Keltbray’s Group Environmental Manager, Altin Lleshi, explained: “At Chelsea Barracks Keltbray won the gold award for saving energy on site that indirectly led to a considerable reduction in carbon generation, while the silver at Mitre Square was awarded for achieving 97% waste recycling figures, and by pioneering the Casella real-time noise and dust monitoring system.

“The local communities, surrounding businesses and nearby schools all benefited from the implementation of these environmental best practice, and it is great to receive the recognition for this.”

The Green Apple Awards have become one of the major environmental recognition schemes, both in the UK and internationally. Managing Director of the Green Organisation, Roger Wolens, presented the gold award to Keltbray’s Environmental Administrator Alexandra Webb, Environmental Advisor Claire Fundrey and Group Environmental Manager Altin Lleshi (pictured left to right)
