Keltbray was presented with the Contract of the Year Award (over $1.5 million) for demolition at Block W5, Regent Street, which was carried out for The Crown Estate andMace. Keltbray also won the Civils Demolition Award for work carried out at London Bridge Station Phases 1 to 3 for Network Rail and Costain.

The Keltbray entries won the day on the back of the projects’ complexity and for the technical innovation applied while carrying out work in these highly sensitive and confined environments, where nearly 100% recycling rates were achieved.

About Keltbray’s performance at London Bridge, Project Director for Costain, Clive Loosemore, said: “Despite the many constraints, the close proximity of the Shard, Guy’s Hospital and other very sensitive structures, working within the footprint of the station and adjacent to some of the busiest railway lines in London, Keltbray’s team has performed across all disciplines to an exceptional standard. Keltbray’s positive safety management has been second to none, often leading the way with safely initiatives across the project, the team has fully embraced the collaborative environment we have been encouraging on site which has created the one team culture.”

At the World Demolition Awards, which were presented on 6 November as part of the World Demolition Summit in Amsterdam, Keltbray also received a commendation in the category of Urban Demolition for ‘keeping the lights on’ at 2-3 Piccadilly while carrying on demolition works on site for Land Securities.

Managing Director of Keltbray, John Price, was delighted with the win: “At Keltbray our goal is to be the best in our sector and at everything we do, I think these award wins illustrate well the professional and expert manner with which we plan and carry our work to ensure a safe delivery on time and on budget,” he said.
