Keltbray, which is a UK leading specialist business, which offers engineering, construction, demolition, decommissioning, remediation, rail and environmental services, has successfully achieved accreditation to the Van Excellence scheme, which is managed by the Freight Transport Association (FTA). This means Keltbray has met all the demanding standards of the Van Excellence Code, which has been agreed by a group of leading van fleet operators.

Van Excellence is an industry-led initiative, which has been developed to raise standards within the industry, improve the perception of vans and light commercial vehicles and enhance the reputation of organisations operating van fleets.

The accreditation follows successful completion of a recent audit of Keltbray’s fleet as well as systems and processes by the FTA’s, who’s Manager of Audit & Accreditation, Gerry Shaw, said: “I am delighted that Keltbray passed our audit. Congratulations! The recognition of excellence is the cornerstone of Van Excellence and this accreditation demonstrates Keltbray’s commitment to safer, more efficient and sustainable van operations. In turn, this will help your standing with customers and employees, and reassure both the public and Government that van operators are addressing the issues of concern to them.”

Over a hundred van fleets have now been accredited under the Van Excellence scheme, operating between them over 100,000 vehicles, including numerous high profile businesses, such as BT Fleet, Balfour Beatty, British Gas, Sainsbury’s, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Network Rail.

Keltbray Group’s Fleet Manager, Sean Murphy, said: “Achieving this standard for our van fleet, which consists of more than 700 vehicles, has been a significant investment in hard work, and a demonstration of our commitment to promoting high standards across the Group.”
