Esher 9 September 2015: Keltbray Demolition & Civil Engineering, which is part of Keltbray Group, has been presented with a Considerate Constructors Scheme Performance Beyond Compliance Certificate for works carried out at Earls Court, where Keltbray is the main demolition and civil engineering contractor.
Following his visit to site, Considerate Constructors Scheme Monitor, Richard Green, stated the site appearance was ‘excellent.’ He also commended the site’s community engagement and the local goodwill undertaken by the team, including recovery of architectural details for the Brooking National Collection, donation of plants to Marcus Garvey Park Community Garden and the preservation of memorabilia for Devonport Field Gun Association.
In his report, Mr Green went on to say: “Environmental matters are closely monitored and there is a strong level of ecology awareness on site. Noise, dust and vibration monitoring is undertaken and safety is excellent. Care for the workforce is excellent – a wide range of well-maintained facilities are provided and additional training is regularly provided. This site was a real pleasure to visit, and the company’s commitment to the Scheme is clearly evident. Well done to the entire workforce and management team, I Iook forward to my next visit,” he concluded.
Keltbray started work on the main Earls Court exhibition centre buildings last December, when a 900-tonne steel-framed bridge over the West London Railway Line was safely removed.
Demolition of the main Earls Court exhibition halls is now underway. This is part of a complex job, which is due for completion in June 2016.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a non-profit-making, independent organisation founded in 1997 where companies and suppliers voluntarily register and agree to abide by the Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.
