Esher 15 July 2016: Keltbray Group CEO, Brendan Kerr, has won this year’s Roll of Honour Award at the 2016 Construction News Awards in recognition of the growth Keltbray has achieved under his stewardship.
Editor of Construction News, Rebecca Evans, said: “As it has grown from being a £22 mill revenue specialist to having a turnover of almost £300 mill, Keltbray’s name has become synonymous with the UK’s biggest jobs. Having worked on iconic projects, such as The Shard, Crossrail, Battersea Power Station and the Olympic Stadium, the company has continued to soar, leaping 34 places in the CN100 table of top contractors in 2015.”
The judges also recognised Keltbray’s diversification under Mr. Kerr’s direction, “from being solely a demolition contractor to providing services for engineering design and decommissioning through to piling, remediation, rail electrification and environmental services, and for its owner’s commitment to “innovation, technical leadership and health and safety.”
Brendan Kerr said: “I am honoured to be presented with this prestigious award, and especially proud that it coincides with Keltbray’s 40th year in business. Over these past four decades, we have continued to develop our specialist services in line with the market. This extensive portfolio allows Keltbray to offer a range of standalone services, which can also be provided as an integrated offering that cannot be matched in the UK market. We have continued to secure long-term projects and now have a pipeline of work up to 2021.
“Our success is evidenced by our repeat business and increasingly complex projects, such as Earls Court, and we have achieved this by adopting a clear strategy, where a strong financial performance is combined with sustainable growth where we put our customers first, ensuring our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and budget, with care for the environment and our communities.
“We see our people as key to our success and provide unrivalled training and development opportunities. This has resulted in a more diverse workforce than the national construction average and one where 1:14 employees are apprentices or graduate trainees. Keltbray is also a responsible corporate citizen that provides training for more than 350 long-term unemployed every year.”
Keltbray was also highly commended in the Construction News Award’s Specialist Contractor of the Year (turnover over £100 mill) award. The judges were hugely impressed with “the focus and attention to detail Keltbray has committed to its projects and high level of investment in technology and skills.”
