Esher 16 May 2017: In an awards scheme run by the safety charity, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), Keltbray has secured seven RoSPA Awards, with further awards still to be announced. This is a record for the Group.

The awards, which so far include five Gold and two Silver, will be presented at awards ceremonies in June and July:

1. Keltbray Ltd – Gold
2. Keltbray Aspire – Gold
3. Keltbray Rail – Gold
4. Keltbray Environmental Solutions – Gold
5. Keltbray Remediation – Gold
6. Keltbray Piling – Silver
7. Keltbray Sheet Piling – Silver

The RoSPA Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind. It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and looks at accident records, health and safety management systems and practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

While an overarching gold award was secured by Keltbray for its health and safety performance, several of Keltbray’s individual business units also secured gold awards in their own right based on their evidence of a good health, safety and wellbeing management over the past year.

According to Keltbray Group’s HSQE/Compliance Director, Simon Hulme MBE, “In the past year, we have increasingly focused on innovation, and in recognising what a significant role wellbeing plays in minimising the risk of incidents. We are now integrating this into our new Group policy on Physical and Mental wellbeing. It is key for us to get a better dialogue going when it comes to addressing this as well as the other key accident risks, and we have actively embraced the CECA initiative to bring Mental Health, Fatigue, Plant Safety and Respiratory Illness into focus for Keltbray.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, added: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates Keltbray’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat.

“This is a special year in the history of RoSPA, and we congratulate all of our winners in this, our centenary year”.

The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold is presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.
