Keltbray is pleased to have been shortlisted for the Circular Transition Award
Keltbray, a leading UK specialist engineering business, today announces it has been shortlisted in the 13th Reuters Events: Responsible Business Awards, the world’s leading celebration of responsible business excellence, in the Circular Transition Award category.
Reuters Events: Responsible Business Awards are the world’s leading Awards celebrating leadership in sustainable business. It’s more than acknowledging excellent sustainability strategies. The Responsible Business Awards recognise those that are truly having an impact on business, society and the environment – delivering a new blueprint for business in the 21st Century.
Keltbray’s core purpose is to redefine the way sustainable development is delivered, as part of this the company sees everything it demolishes as a potential asset to re-use.
Everything has a life cycle and this applies to buildings no longer fit for purpose. A key strategy Keltbray uses is to view all building constituents as potential assets; while not everything may be reusable, each and every part should be a valuable resource for future use on or off site. Industry collaboration is key, as is engaging in the early stages of a project to achieve circularity and Keltbray welcomes partnerships to further its research activities.
“It’s an honour to have been shortlisted in the Reuters Events: Responsible Business Awards for our work towards transitioning towards a circular economy model. One of the most pressing sustainability issues of our time is Climate Change, we recognise that our operations form part of the problem and bold change is needed. We take our pledge to reach Net Zero Carbon emissions seriously, but we also know that this is not the finish line.
Our pledge to reach Net Zero by 2040 underpins all three pillars of sustainability and we recognise the need to move ‘beyond zero’ – building a resilient business focussed on embedding circular economy and ensuring that the wellbeing of people and planet are at the heart of everything we do.” Kiro Tamer, Head of Environmental Sustainability at Keltbray.
“It’s been inspiring to see the quality and number of entries we’ve received for this year’s Awards. There’s been a lot of new faces join us in 2022, showing the progress we as an industry are making towards a more sustainable future. There’s some truly amazing initiatives and innovations across the globe that are driving new responsible ways of doing business. We look forward to celebrating their successes back in person at our ceremony in London in October.” Ed Long, Head of Sustainable Business Events.
The winners will be revealed and celebrated at a glamorous Awards Dinner ceremony on 13th October at 8 Northumberland Avenue in London.
