Keltbray is currently working on the construction of a brand new 30 storey high-rise in Birmingham on behalf of Wates Construction Central, the project is worth £4.6Million.
Keltbray has been contracted to carry out the ground works, substructure, drainage, slipform core 31 storeys high, 30 storey concrete frame, precast stairs, landings and roof slab of the structure.
The scheme is the first High Rise project Keltbray has worked on outside of London. The 30 storey concrete frame floor plate is currently constructed to level 6 but will eventually go all the way to the top.
Steve Barber, Construction Director, had this to say about the scheme: “The slipformed core at Essex Street is now completed to the roof top level, just above the 30th Floor slab. The tallest structure KSL has built outside of London will now be continued over the next 6 months as we bring the concrete floor plates up to the rooftop, from Level 7 to Level 30.”
The project has been our first foray into Birmingham as Keltbray Structures, which in itself has been a challenge. The usual support available in London is not so close to hand and certain things have taken longer than usual. With that being said, the project team has done an excellent job on the scheme to date and will no doubt continue to reach new heights on the project!
Cian O’Sullivan is Project Manager on site and is supported by Isa Ferati and John Kelly as Construction Managers, and Andrew Lloyd as Project Engineer.
Congratulations team for reaching this fantastic milestone and all the best over the next few months as you build to level 30.
The project is due to be completed early 2023.
