Keltbray has won in the Equipment Innovation category at the 2022 Ground Engineering Awards and won Highly Commended for the Sustainability Award
Following a record year for entries, the deserving winners of the 2022 GE Awards were announced on Tuesday 6 September 2022 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
The GE Awards brought together more than 800 clients, contractors, designers and geotechnical experts for a glamorous evening of celebration, recognition and networking.
After review by a panel of more than 70 expert judges, Keltbray was awarded the Award for Equipment Innovation in recognition of the HIPER Pile – DfMA in large diameter piling, and scooped Highly Commended for the Sustainability Award for design and installation of HIPER piles for structural and geothermal capacity.
Stuart Norman, Managing Director for Piling at Keltbray, commented: “We are delighted to win the Ground Engineering award for equipment innovation which is real testament to our mindset as a business to challenge existing practice, and to ultimately deliver on our mission statement to redefine the way that sustainable development is delivered.
Our piling team have managed to develop, test and deliver a new piling methodology with unprecedented savings in embodied and whole life carbon with added environmental, Health and Safety, productivity and quality benefits. An outstanding achievement of which we can all be very proud.”
Michael Pelken, Innovation Director at Keltbray, commented: “Without new tools and methodologies we can neither achieve our ambitious performance targets, nor meet urgent global sustainability challenges. In our innovation portfolio we take dedicated approaches to project delivery, product development, and process optimisation. These in return support a better integrated and fully coordinated way of working, and improve health and safety while reducing risk.
This award recognises how we embrace industry change through the improvement of core processes that can help deliver projects to the highest standards of productivity and efficiency.”
Nia Kajastie, editor of Ground Engineering, said: “It was great to be back at the Grosvenor House, where the GE Awards event was last held in 2014. We certainly needed the space of the Great Room after selling out the Brewery last year.
“This was another record-breaking year for entries to the GE Awards, with a total of 233 submissions. It truly shows just how much winning a GE Award means to the industry.
“Our judges worked hard to make sure to choose the right winners and highly commended entries – with full face to face judging back this year. It wasn’t an easy task, as we had long ‘shortlists’ full of varied and technically excellent projects, as well as impressive companies and individuals.
“Now let’s try to bang the drum about the winners and share the news with colleagues, clients, friends and more. The ‘unsung’ ground engineering industry needs to shout about its achievements!
“And again, a huge congratulations to all the deserving winners from the GE team!”
