Keltbray wins Procurement Skills Accord (PSA) “Excellence in Social Value” award.

The Procurement Skills Accord (PSA) is a national initiative from the Energy & Utilities Skills Partnership to encourage increased investment in targeted training and skills across the supply chain.

For the third year running, Keltbray passed all criteria for the accord, remaining as a key signatory and member of the steering group for the PSA.

The Procurement Skills Accord Awards 2023 recognise excellence in driving skills development across the supply chain through procurement.

This year awards were presented for demonstrating excellence across four categories:

  • Social value
  • Supplier engagement
  • Procurement practices
  • Skills development

Keltbray, represented by Liam McMyler at the awards in Birmingham, was pleased to be awarded with PSA’s Excellence in Social Value Award for its proven and continued approach to Social Value, beating over 40 other submissions.

Keltbray’s self-delivery model means we take direct responsibility for delivering on our promises to consult, improve and leave a positive legacy in the communities in which we work.

Our dedicated Social Value team, work alongside our site-specific project delivery teams to create comprehensive social engagement plans, which benefit:

  • Residents, through community engagement programmes
  • Job seekers and young people, through engagement and employment opportunities
  • Schools and college students, through engagement with local schools, colleges, and UTC’s.
  • Business owners and employees, through increased demand and procurement opportunities
  • Workforce, through occupational health and wellbeing
  • Apprenticeships and training opportunities

At Keltbray, we are acutely aware of the skills shortage within society and take very seriously our responsibility as an employer to actively promote construction as a career choice. We have a multifaceted approach to this challenge, including STEM Ambassadors, Construction Ambassadors, Build UK’s Open Doors events, and the promotion of construction to those we meet through job fairs and partner referrals.
