Esher 26 April 2016: In an awards scheme run by the safety charity, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), Keltbray, which is a UK leader in specialist engineering, construction and decommissioning services, has secured no less than six gold awards with further awards still to be announced.
Now in its 60th year, the RoSPA Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind. It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and looks at accident records, health and safety management systems and practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
While an overarching gold award was secured by Keltbray for its central approach to and delivery of occupational health and safety performance across the Group, several of Keltbray’s individual business units also secured gold awards in their own right based on their evidence of a good health, safety and wellbeing management system over the past year.

HSQE Director for Keltbray Group, Simon Hulme, said: “We are delighted to be presented with these awards, which recognise our excellence in safety performance and are a credit to the high standards of work across the Group. I am particularly proud that so many of our divisions are now also securing Gold awards based on their own track record and merit.
“We are conscious that we cannot rest on our laurels and determined to better these standards by expanding our wellbeing programme, developing our workforce to ensure they have the right skills, training and experience. We will also continue to invest in plant and equipment to ensure our people have access to the latest safety features. At the heart of our strategy is the recognition that for us to continually improve and challenge ourselves, we must learn lessons from each other and our peers. Our goal is to stay focused on our zero accidents target to ensure our employees go home safe and sound after each working day.”
The RoSPA Awards is celebrating 60 years of presenting highly-regarded and sought after accolades to businesses and organisations which have shown commitment to accident and ill-health prevention. Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.
This year was doubly special for our winners as their achievements were recognised as the RoSPA Awards celebrated its diamond anniversary, which is a ringing endorsement of the thousands of businesses and organisations that have committed to continuous improvement in accident and ill-health prevention.”
