Minimising environmental impact and cost

Keltbray has implemented the SMARTWaste online tool across the Group, which measures waste, energy, water and the responsible sourcing and use of material, helping us to divert over 99% of our construction and demolition waste material from landfill.

Per £1m turnover we used 50% less electricity and 80% less water

Innovate UK Grants

Keltbray is in receipt of two grants from Innovate UK, the UK's innovation agency, to deliver solutions that will improve productivity, quality and performance of the UK construction sector.

Keltbray has committed to secure unprecedented efficiency improvements in deep foundation construction and develop the HIPER pile, a cutting edge Keltbray Piling development. Thanks to the funding, we've also been able to employ four full time research and development engineers to support the project.

Keltbray's pledge to the UN

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a global agreement by the UN to eradicate poverty and fight inequality and injustice, with a focus on 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Keltbray has committed to focusing on seven of these: Good Health and Wellbeing, Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Climate Action. Targets are set each year and every employee has the opportunity to play their part in meeting them.

Sustainable Innovation with Cemfree

Keltbray was the first in the UK to install a permanent works pile using a zero cement concrete, Cemfree.

The material, developed and manufactured in the UK by the DB Group, is an ultra-low carbon alternative to traditional cement concrete. It has all of the structural characteristics of traditional concrete and is more sustainable as it is more resistant to chloride ingress and requires fewer construction joints and less crack-control steel when used within key structural elements.

Widening the talent pool

Keltbray is a member of the 5% club - a movement of nearly 250 employers focussed on creating momentum behind the recruitment of apprentices, sponsored students and graduates into the workplace.

We’re proud of our long-standing partnerships with non-profit organisations including Bounce Back - a charity focused on training and employment of ex-offenders, and the homeless charity Cardinal Hume, as well as prisons, schools, and colleges.
