Introduction
Keltbray Aspire was awarded the contract to undertake new installation works for foundations, main part steel, small part steel and wiring. Keltbray Power Distribution were also responsible for the installation and testing of low level HV/ATF.
The works were undertaken during a challenging access regime which sometimes only left 3.5hrs to run both contact and catenary conductors. A mixture of augured concrete and piled foundations were installed in challenging ground conditions which both tested innovation and determination.
The project also saw the introduction of Series 2 OLE equipment that was a first within the UK, this both challenged design and present day installation techniques.
