Keltbray Group remain involved in a number of works in relation to the redevelopment of Battersea Powers tation. Keltbray Remediation were invited to input into the solution required to mitigate the risk of widespread asbestos contamination in Made Ground soils within various areas of the site, including the turbine halls and the boiler house.
Keltbray identified a robust cost effective solution to prevent asbestos contamination in soils becoming airborne without effecting the clients programme for subsequent elements of works.
Keltbray provided an imported, engineered working platform that was suitable for heavy-duty vehicular access and also suitable as a scaffold mat for follow-on trades.
The works required a high degree of logistical planning and execution in conjunction with a number of trades, whilst maintaining robust risk management procedures to prevent asbestos fibre release.
The works were completed under a watching brief from an asbestos supervisor undertaking reassurance air monitoring, and the constructed mat was subject to plate test loadings to demonstrate conformance with the engineering requirements of the client.
The works were completed on a lump-sum all risk basis.
