Project Scope

Keltbray Rail prides itself on offering innovative solutions to it’s clients and a Joint Venture contract with Network Rail’s Orpington Delivery Unit  proved a challenging project in very tight timescales.
Network Rail’s National Delivery Services provided the Technical Specification for the team to develop and produce full design drawings and safety documents. The design and documents were developed by the Rail Engineering team in Ashford and submitted to the client for approval.
As part of the JV, Keltbray Rail were responsible for the supply and full management of ten RRV’s that were used on the project including CASE 988, PC110 and Lazer Dozer equipment.
Following the production of a full engineering train plan and project programme, the works were commenced with the complete removal of three redundant sidings, all of which were loaded onto engineering trains.
The delivery of 1000T of track ballast was laid and compacted to form the bottom ballast level using Lazer Dozers. Serviceable rails and BV8 switches were installed and fully plated with top ballast used to complete the installation works.
The Keltbray Rail setting out engineer and TQS completed the works by managing the compact tamper on all roads to deliver the final line and level required by the design.
