Abrasive Wheels

Course Content

The PUWER regulations 1998 place a duty of care on employers to provide adequate training for the safe use abrasive wheels.  This training course is designed for individuals who select, mount or use abrasive wheels.

The course covers different types of abrasive wheels and mechanical cutting tools, diamond blades, pre-use inspection to wheels and tools, hazards, correct PPE, fire control, regulations, correct cutting/grinding techniques and correct selection of wheels.

Who Should Attend?

Any individual who carries out a role involving the selection, inspection and operation of grinders.

Abrasive Wheels

This course is designed to provide learners with an understanding of current legislation and an introduction to working safely with abrasive wheels so that they can easily identify the hazards, understand the risks and know which control measures are required to prevent injury and ill-health.
