Keltbray acquires specialist track maintenance and renewal company, Gamble Rail

The acquisition saves 170 jobs and enters Keltbray into the rail maintenance sector. Gamble Rail is rebranded as Keltbray Rail in 2010.

The acquisition gives Keltbray 250 new employees and a new service capability to manage the removal of asbestos and other hazards.

Brendan Kerr becomes the Chief Executive Officer and sole owner of Keltbray.

Keltbray’s temporary works design consultancy, Wentworth House Partnership, is created by Brendan Kerr and Stuart Marchand.

Brendan Kerr joins Keltbray as Project Manager

Brendan Kerr joins Keltbray as Project Manager in 1989 before rising to Operations Director in 1994 and Managing Director in 1999.

Keltbray opens for business

Keltbray is formed by friends Howard Burden and David Ewens in 1976. They were both working as surveyors in the construction industry and decided to form their own entity for smaller earth and groundwork jobs. The first office was in 158-160 Battersea Park Road.
