Kevin’s progression: from first placement to managing complex London schemes

My first steps in construction
I began my career in 2017, joining Wentworth as a placement student during my Civil Engineering degree. That year on site gave me a strong grounding and helped me understand the industry.
In 2022, I moved to Keltbray as an Assistant Project Manager on my first project, setting the direction for where I am today.
Strengthening my skills on site
I’m now the Project Manager for 50 Fenchurch Street and 60 Gracechurch Street, primarily coordinating temporary works across both schemes.
My progress has been steady. After completing my degree, I spent several years as a Graduate Engineer at Wentworth, building up my technical base. Wanting practical delivery experience, I asked to transfer into Keltbray’s operational team. Working on site helped me develop leadership, decision‑making and project management skills while gaining exposure to complex challenges.
Keltbray has supported me by offering more demanding projects, guidance from senior colleagues and access to training and professional development.
Making a difference
My work contributes to the safe and efficient delivery of our projects. Temporary works coordination ensures designs are planned, reviewed and implemented correctly, and I work with designers, subcontractors and the wider team to manage risk and maintain compliance.
50 Fenchurch Street is a project I’m particularly proud of. Its complexity offered a real opportunity to grow, and being part of its delivery was both challenging and rewarding.
What I value most at Keltbray is the variety. Each day brings something new, and the mix of skills and experience across the team creates an environment where everyone can learn.
For me, career progression is about expanding my skills and responsibilities while becoming a more capable leader, delivering value and continuing to grow with experience.
