In May, Keltbray held a Health, Safety and Wellbeing event in London to show clients the initiatives it has in place to ensure “everyone gets home safe every day, with no harm caused to Keltbray employees, subcontractors and members of the public”. Keltbray’s brand new mission statement and values were also introduced at the event.
Attended by 65 people, including clients such as Sir Robert McAlpine and Barron Civils LTD, this event was the first of its kind for Keltbray and proved to be a great success. Waterman Group Chief Executive, Nick Taylor, fed back that he is looking “forward to Keltbray’s 2020 presentation”.
To ensure Keltbray is doing everything to keep its employees, subcontractors and members of the public safe, all of its Business Units have analysed trends and identified the potential risks to Keltbray employees, subcontractors and members of the public as a result of its works and has looked at solutions to address them. To discuss these, there were presentations from KML Business and Operational Manager, Adam Hodkinson, Head of Lifting, Steve Leyton, Health and Wellbeing Manager – Infrastructure and Rail, Mark Newns, Social Value Manager, Jamie Parkes and Behavioural Safety Manager, Sam Taylor.
They spoke about the processes that are in place to ensure each unit’s targets are being met, covering topics such as reducing Keltbray’s carbon footprint, using innovative technology to prevent incidents, comprehensive sign-off procedures and community engagement.
The Keltbray Training and Social Values teams also attended the event and discussed the impact of having a holistic mental, emotional and physical approach to working to reduce the risk of onsite accidents and incidents.
Following the positive reception from clients in attendance, Group Managing Director, John Price, has expressed a strong interest in making the event an annual occurrence.
