Keltbray’s work on the 1 Victoria Street redevelopment is featured in the April 2026 issue of Ground Engineering Magazine. The £250M scheme, close to the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey, is transforming the former BEIS headquarters into a new 10‑storey mixed‑use building while retaining its two‑storey basement.

Our Contribution To The Project

Since early 2024, we’ve delivered:

  • Soft strip and derating works
  • Basement asbestos removal
  • Hard demolition of the existing superstructure
  • Construction engineering and temporary works design by Wentworth
  • Early piling enabled through innovative ‘core notching’
  • Substructure works, including overslab installation and cavity drainage system

Gavin Lawless, our Built Environment Regional Director, says:

“Our approach on 1 Victoria Street has been truly multidisciplinary and self-delivered. From the outset, we’ve managed soft strip, asbestos removal, demolition and piling, and we’re now progressing the substructure and superstructure for the client.”
