Keltbray Lifting Services delivered the controlled removal of a 1,300 tonne steel roof structure at EC1, spanning 126 metres by 76 metres. The project demanded a highly engineered lifting solution to manage the scale, height and complexity of the structure safely and efficiently.

Using a bespoke, computer-controlled strand jack system, Keltbray safely lowered the roof 25 metres to ground level in a single, precisely managed 11-hour operation. The approach eliminated the need for extensive scaffolding, significantly reducing work at height and overall site risk.

Key outcomes included improved safety performance, programme certainty and cost efficiencies, while ground-level processing enhanced productivity and supported sustainable material handling.

This project demonstrates Keltbray Lifting Services’ capability to design and deliver complex, large scale lifting operations, through innovative engineering and safety-led execution.
